What is the Threefold Unfolding?
From the first stirring of human consciousness, I contend, certain individuals have sensed and interpreted life in a threefold fashion. If we scrutinize the writings of those bold spirits who have explored the development and evolution of human consciousness, there is clear and indisputable evidence of a threefold schema as it relates to human being. This tertiary structure is not the isolated insight of some fringe philosopher espousing an outlandish notion—this triune continuum has been discerned and discussed by almost every noted thinker throughout history, as far back as it is recorded, though it has been described in terms relevant to their own particular historical context, formed by the individual's own unique consciousness.
All of those people from the past discerned a triune division in the world. The list of such thinkers is wide and various, and the history of it goes back to the edge of written history—and beyond. In this book I will cover many of them to help establish my point. I will show that systems of symbolism directly link to a triadic structure as well. I would further contend that all of this is completely natural because the human neurological system, as I hope to show, is utilized and "informed" by language in such a way that this threefold nature of human being is completely inherent to us (not to mention that the brain develops and enfolds as a threefold structure).
